View from my desk

I really hope they don’t build anything next to our office any time soon, because the view from my desk at sunset is breathtaking! That’s my darling Swedish teammate, Sara, hard at work.

Time to go back to work

I wanted to share the very good news that I have accepted a position at Ziba Design in Portland. I will be working at the brand new world headquarters in the Pearl District. It’s certainly not a shabby place to hang my hat each day, that’s for sure! The team with whom I’ll be working [...]

Alec climbs his first turbine

It was just another day at the office for Alec and some of his coworkers! Vestas turbines are humongous: 3 football fields tall with blades the length of an 18-wheeler. I usually say something along the lines of “we design and produce vehicles to sell our client’s products”. Then I usually get a blank stare and a [...]

A change of plans

Less than 48 hours before my flight to China, my trip has been put on hold. Patience and my ability to go with the ever-changing flow are virtues that I’m trying to hold near and dear.

Adapt or perish, now as ever, is nature’s inexorable imperative.

Portland Woos Wind-power Giant Vestas
by Ryan Frank, The Oregonian
Sunday November 30, 2008
Portland city leaders have offered wind-power giant Vestas $12.5 million in cash incentives to add 850 white-collar jobs in Portland and build a $250 million North American headquarters here, Mayor-elect Sam Adams said.
