A grandma making gravy, a family with a chocolate lovin’ girl and a baby on the way, 3 pugs sneaking table scraps, knee slapping, hand clapping laughter, a card table for the under-30 crowd, and bellies full of flaky biscuits, spicy collard greens, sweet potato casserole and slabs of t-bone-size chocolate cake.

Precious is 100% “kick in the stomach” powerful. An intense film full of inspiring performances. I’ll be disappointed if the actor who plays Precious’s mother isn’t at the very least nominated for a best actress Academy Award.
