We just got back from our honeymoon this past Saturday. After 10 days away from home, it sure felt good to sleep in our own bed and get back to cooking real food. The time together and away from work was absolutely wonderful, as were the warm days and cool boat drinks. Amanda has a new love for Pina Coladas.
We’ve decided that cruising isn’t really for us, but that didn’t stop us from having a really great time together. We had a lot of good laughs, played lots of Scrabble, and came back with stories to tell. Can you really ask for much more than that?
Our honeymoon started with 2 days in San Francisco where we walked and walked until Amanda’s feet were blistered. The weather was warm and sunny – pretty rare for February. We spent Valentine’s day in the North End, and shared an authentic Italian meal.
The next 7 days were spent cruising the Mexican riviera, with stops in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. Mazatlan was our favorite stop, where we learned to make 4 kinds of salsa, margaritas and learned to dance the Salsa.
We would have liked to spend more time in each city, traveling around and exploring. However, the Love Boat left promptly each day at 4pm.
All in all, it really was a great week and one we’ll certainly never forget!
Alec was a wonderful tour guide. He knew all the best spots to visit!

The day was so clear and everyone was out and about taking advantage of the lovely day.
Puerto Vallarta (our first stop) – Alec insists on only being referred to as Mister Pepe from here on out
Mazatlan (our second stop) – We learned to make salsa, guacamole, margaritas and dance the Salsa. Alec really got his hips shaking after 3 margaritas!

Mazatlan’s beaches were really clean and the water was crystal clear. This is a city we will try to visit again.
On the ship – Amanda religiously applied SPF 45 and Alec sort of applied it : ) However, we both agreed to partake in a plethora of boat drinks and fresh fruit. Gotta love fresh fruit in February!

Cabo San Lucas (our third stop) – Tendering back to the ship after some shopping.
Ah, the buffet. After 7 days the food on the ship got kind of old – Alec’s face tells the whole story. That’s a plate of lamb, beef wellington, seafood stew, salad with blue cheese dressing, a wheat roll and macaroni & cheese. Please note that upon further review, this is NOT a good combination.
View from our Cabin – Sunrise on the last day at sea.

You two are very cute. I think you should breed immediately. Carry on!
